报告题目一:Statistical process control for event frequency and magnitude monitoring

摘要:Traditional control charts have been widely used in manufacturing industries for the monitoring of the quality of products and processes. Recently, there have been further studies on using control charts for general time-between-events monitoring. In this talk, we will review some of the existing charts and discuss their applicability indifferent contexts. Event monitoring is very important in both manufacturing processes and non-manufacturing processes. The application context could be in the monitoring of the occurrences of failures, accidents, natural disasters etc. When monitoring events, other than occurrence frequency, event magnitude is of great interest and importance. Control charts are also developed for monitoring events in two aspects, event frequency (also known as time between events) and event magnitude. In this talk, we will also summarize some recent studies on control charts for simultaneously monitoring the event frequency and event magnitude.

 

报告人简介Prof. Xie received his PhD from Linköping University, Sweden in 1987. He did his undergraduate study at Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden and graduated with an MSc in Applied Mathematics in 1984. Dr Xie joined the National University of Singapore in 1991 as one of the first recipients of the prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Research Fellowship. In May 2011, Prof Xie moved to City University of Hong Kong as Chair professor of industrial engineering. He was an invited professor to INPG, France, in 2000 and a William Mong Visiting Fellow to Univ of Hong Kong in 1996. Prof Xie has published over 250 journal papers and 8 books, including “Software Reliability Modelling” by World Scientific, “Weibull Models”by John Wiley, “Statistical Models and Control Charts for High Quality Processes” by Kluwer Academic, “Stochastic Aging and Dependence for Reliability”by Springer. He is an editor, associate editor and on the editorial board of many established international journals. Prof Xie is an elected fellow of IEEE and an elected member of Int Stat Institute.




报告题目二:A Bayesian Approach to Risk Evaluation and Maintenance Policy Optimization

摘要:In this study, we present a risk evaluation and maintenance strategy optimization approach for systems with parallel identical assets subject to continuous deterioration. System performance is defined by the number of functional assets, and penalty cost is measured by the loss of performance. To overcome the practical challenges of information sparsity, we employ a Bayesian framework to dynamically infer unknown parameters in a Wiener degradation model. Order statistics are utilized to describe the failure times of assets, and the stepwise incurred performance penalty cost. Furthermore, based on the Bayesian parameter inferences, we propose a short-term value-based replacement policy to minimize the expected cost rate in the current planning horizon. The proposed strategy simultaneously considers the variability of parameter estimates and the inherent uncertainty of the stochastic degradation processes. A simulation study and a realistic example from the energy industry are presented to illustrate the proposed framework.

 

报告人简介赵秀杰,天津大学经济与管理学部工业工程系副教授。2013年毕业于清华大学,获工业工程学士学位,2015年毕业于宾夕法尼亚州立大学,获工业工程硕士学位,2018年获得香港城市大学系统工程与工程管理博士学位,博士期间曾访问法国格勒诺布大学及英国剑桥大学。20182019期间在香港城市大学数据科学学院及新加坡高性能计算研究所分别担任博士后及研究科学家职位。研究方向包括可靠性与质量管理,实验设计,质保策略优化,系统维修优化与工业统计。他曾在IISE TransactionsJournal of Quality TechnologyReliability Engineering & System SafetyIEEE Transactions on Reliability等国际期刊上发表论文十余篇,并曾获得ISE Magazine Featured Article荣誉。另外,曾发表数篇国际会议论文,并获得第46Computers and Industrial Engineering国际会议优秀论文奖。担任Journal of Quality TechnologyReliability Engineering & System SafetyIEEE Transactions on Reliability, International Journal of Production Research等国际期刊审稿人。.
